Spark Plug: They Stay Because You Need Them
Last summer was one of the toughest times in my life. I felt like the rope was about to snap. I went to manic-depression. Just
then, many well-meaning friends stood by me and held the rope. I already spoke
about being defensive. I misjudged a lot of people’s intentions. I was foolishly reaching-out elsewhere too. I
was pulling and putting all my energy on someone I disillusioned to care.

what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks

And well, I learned along the way. It is easy for anyone to
claim they are there for you. As they
echo your thoughts and fears, you feel they are your allies. They will make you
feel they know you. They know what you are going through. But, then again, people who know you are not
the same as the people who understand you. Those who understand you stay, even
if you don't choose them or pull them in. They stay because they understand and
because love is real. They know you need them to stay.
