Tips for Overcoming Serious Regrets
It would be good to say we do not regret anything; but that is hypocritical. We all, at one point regret a few things. It is part of our human nature to do so. Yet we have a choice to either stay and dwell on that regret or learn to overcome them.
Some of the most insightful thoughts I've come across to live with and overcome the regrets are as follows:
1. Determine what your regret really is. Was it an opportunity you passed up on? Or maybe a relationship you never tried having? This step is mentally painful, yet necessary.

2. Reflect on what you did that affected others. Perhaps others became disappointed or lost trust in you at some point. Maybe you harmed them without their knowledge.

This is another painful step, but you need to do it in order to understand what happened.

3. Get active. Change what you did wrong, no matter what it may be. Even if the regretful thing seems irreversible, you can still make a difference.

4. Write out a plan or agreement for yourself that identifies how you could avoid having this sort of regret in the future. Mine was a simple two word statement.
